Curiosity got the best of me and I started looking for a real-time Twitter photo feed app. The first thing I found was an iPhone app called
Pingwire. The app claims that it'll display nearly every photo added to Twitter in real-time. I downloaded the app from the App Store for 99 cents and it worked quite well. But I wasn't happy enough. I wanted to find a web app that could do the same thing!
After searching around on Google I finally came across a web app called
Twitcaps! The Twitcaps website displays photos posted on Twitter from TwitPic, TweetPhoto, yFrog, and a whole bunch of other photo hosting services.
The website also allows you to search by location, keyword, hashtag, user, and almost any other official Twitter search operator!
One of the really cool features of the Twitcaps website is that you can capture photos that you like. Even if the original poster deletes the photo they tweeted, the captured image will be saved under your Twitter account at
Twitpic.com! Genius!
One last thing that I should mention is that Twitcaps will also display videos from YouTube, TwitVid, and other supported photo sharing site that also support video uploads.
After playing around with Twitcaps for a few minutes, I can safely say that this website is something some folks may get addicted to. Being able to play the part of voyeur and check out the thousands of photos that stream through Twitter daily is quite exciting!
