The Definitive Guide To #KUBOOBS03/26/2012 It seems to have all started on March 15, 2012 when @MommyLovesWine tweeted the first tweet about #KUBOOBS. Gentleman of leisure, and sometimes DJ, @DJSoap was the next to tweet about #KUBOOBS when he tweeted, "I need to see more #KUboobs!" The hashtag failed to take off over the next few days with Topsy Analytics showing that there were only 10 mentions of #KUBOOBS on March 16th, 0 mentions on the 17th, 11 mentions on the 18th, and again 0 mentions from the 19th-22nd. It seemed that #KUBOOBS had reached its peak and that would be the end of it. All hell broke loose on March 23, 2012 when the University of Kansas took on North Carolina State in the Sweet 16. On that fateful day in #KUBOOBS history, a whopping 1,310 mentions of #KUBOOBS were made on Twitter. The hashtag took a dive on March 24th with only 260 mentions of #KUBOOBS but then, not surprisingly, when the University of Kansas took on the University of North Carolina on March 25, 2012, the #KUBOOBS hashtag went through the roof and hit 2,058 mentions on Twitter. Most of the #KUBOOBS tweets have been positive, with the vast majority of them being tweets of women wearing a KU t-shirt (with or without cleavage.) A few of our favorite photos have been nude, or semi-nude, and feature some of the best breasts KU has to offer! Some "twidiots," however, have been critical of the hashtag, calling it slutty and trashy, while others have taken it to an extreme and threatened those that were posting with the hashtag! We hosted a #KUBOOBS contest where the winner that tweeted at us with the #KUBOOBS hashtag would win a $50 Amazon gift card. The winner sent us a spectacular photo of her breasts with KU pasties and a KU flag, but she had to take it down because someone actually sent her a threatening message! We can only imagine what will happen to the number of #KUBOOBS mentions when Kansas takes on Ohio State in the Final Four in New Orleans, and if they go on to win the championship, we think @MommyLovesWine and her #KUBOOBS hashtag may give #KONY2012 a run for its money as the most viral hashtag of all time! |
